Developing a circuit
I have been thinking about this ad placing gig:
The associates program I'm with - linked opposie - is slowly paying dividends. I haven't done this full-on, full-time, but I've put in quite a few hours over the last month or two.
It's a slow road, and can be frustrating. You've got to constantly find new places to post. It's actually quite good fun doing searches, and seeing just how many of these free classifieds sites are out there. But I have discovered that I can't log into some, because of my ancient OS and browser, or there's too much mucking around in the posting process. So, what I've done is join several different affiliate programs. And I keep returning to the same classifieds, which I know and am comfortable with. I'll start doing this with search engines, message boards next.
So, I think this is a good technique that people may be interested in using: Rather than having one ad that you post everywhere, have several ads that you post at only some places. By the time you've done the rounds and posted them at say, twenty or thirty places for a week, you can go back to the beginning and see that your original ads will have expired. And you repeat the process. (It's kind of like painting the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Apparently the job is such a big one that it takes the painters 3 years to finish it. By the time they have, the area of the bridge they started at needs a new coat. So, they begin it all again!)
